Thoughts and reflections from Pastor Lin.

One thing I am very passionate about is encouraging people to be actively serving the Lord! This is something that is so easy to find a way to do in the Church. The Church is the body of the Living Christ and is always in need of more people working together to serve others. I don't understand how people can say they can be a Christian and not belong to a church. I like the one answer that says "Yes, you can be a Christian without belonging to a church but you can't be a good one!' Still, I struggle with this idea as well. The Great Commission Jesus gave is for every single Christian: Matthew 28:19-20: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,C)" data-cr="#cen-NIV-24215C"> baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teachingE)" data-cr="#cen-NIV-24216E"> them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with youF)" data-cr="#cen-NIV-24216F"> always, to the very end of the age.” In the local church, this is something we all do together...

The Lead Team is currently praying about changing (shortening) BHCC's Mission Statement to say: "Multiplying God's People and Purpose in the World." One reason is because that one short statement is much easier for everyone in the church to memorize. The other reason is we feel that it more concisely states what our church is all about.  We really like the word multiply because that is what Jesus is telling us to do in the Great Commission He has given to every Christ follower. Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

He wants us to multiply ourselves. He wants us to teach others what He has taught us. He wants us to baptize others as we have been baptized. Multiplying God's people is the mission that the church has been given and that well describes the church of BHCC!

We...

I can't stop thanking God and praising HIM for all He continues to do in and through BHCC!!!

Here's just a few of the exciting things He has done recently!

Yesterday, five people took BHCC 101 and 'officially' joined our church! I loved hearing them describe how much this church means to them and how much they look forward to coming to Sunday service every week! Three out of the five found Christ for the first time at BHCC! Five other people took 401 & 201 Classes and we had a fabulous home cooked dinner at the end! Great fellowship!

Many, many people have found Christ for the first time at our church recently and MANY have recommitted their lives to following Jesus!

Our small groups continue to grow and flourish! Praying to start many more in a few months! Since going to video-taping our services and putting them on line last Fall - we are averaging between 60-70 people per week who are viewing our services on the web - this is awesome and we expect to see this continue to increase!

God has put it on the BHCC's Leader's hearts for some time now to be a vessel / spark / conduit in our area to encourage His churches to work together in harmony for the good of the Kingdom of God. Recently - He's given us more opportunities to do exactly that. We are very excited about this, knowing He is the One opening doors and making it happen!

This coming Friday, Sept.,18th, The Webster United Methodist Church and Blessed Hope CC will be co-hosting an amazing event at the Webster UMC called "We are Rochester."  The vision for this event originated with the incredibly gifted band called The City Harmonic. Very recently, City Harmonic completed a tour with the NEWSBOYS! They are a Canadian Band that has won many awards for their music and is definitely on a mission from God beyond the music!

It's so cool how God puts so many things together long before we have any idea what He is planning. The Lead guitarist and singer in the City Harmonic band,...

God has given me a vision for seeing His Church being truly and TOTALLY led by Jesus Christ! He is the only One qualified to lead it. He is the Head and His Church is the Body of Christ. It says so in the Word of God. :-)

When God's people understand this truth, they also understand that everyone in the Body of Christ is not called to be a 'leader' AS MUCH as they are first called to be a follower of Christ.  Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male nor female, for you are all one in the body of Christ Jesus."

I am so excited that God has invited me to be a part of what He is doing and blessing in the Church. He has asked me to be one of His ambassadors for women in His Church. I accept this calling with great honor, joy and humility and my goal is to educate and encourage the Body of Christ (at large) to understand that God created males and females equal in His Kingdom and His desire is for us to mutually submit to one another in Christ. Does...

A Whirlwind of Good and Great things Happening! So excited that my husband and I will go to Florida next week and attend the Exponential Conference in Tampa - It's the biggest gathering of church planters in the world and many of the pastors and leaders that I look up to will be there! Can't wait! This week we had our second meeting with the BHCC Emerge Team. This team is a gathering of BHCC pastors, staff, leaders and emerging leaders that gather every other month to encourage each other, learn from each other, pray for our church and brainstorm where God is leading us in the future! We have close to 20 people in this group and I love the energy and synergy that happens when I'm with these wonderful servants of the LORD! We have recently started a Young Adult Community Group that I am having a blast leading with my husband. We just finished the Godquest study and had some awesome, deep conversations about what it means to seek and find more of God! So many of these young adults found Christ at BHCC and...

I LOVE our church! I LOVE God's church and BHCC is definitely God's CHURCH! I feel so incredibly honored and BLESSED to be a servant at this church! I am so amazed at the wonderful people God has brought to our church to be a part of His incredible work here! We are truly a family of God in this church and it's so beyond what words can describe to watch God working as the Master Weaver through it all! On Sunday afternoon, I led our BHCC 101 Membership Class and those classes are always such a huge encouragement to ME! To hear how God has been working in each person's life and to hear how our church has been such a wonderful blessing and tremendous impact on their lives ~ Well, that's what it's all about - Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! I confess, there are days when I (in the flesh) feel jealous of other, bigger churches in our area. I often wish we were able to offer more of the 'bells and whistles' that many of them are able to offer. But then God reminds me how precious and beautiful our church is just the way...

Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me." (Luke 1:46-49) Merry CHRISTmas! I know I am speaking on behalf of all the people at Blessed Hope Community Church when I say all of us hope and pray you have a very Merry Christmas! If you are considering visiting BHCC ~ The thing you need to know about our church is that it truly is a family of God that is filled with sincere and caring people! The two words I continually hear new people say about us is that they are amazed by how sincere and genuine are all the people at BHCC! I know one might assume that all churches share this characteristic, but sadly, that is not always the case. I do think there is something incredibly unique and special about our church. One person described it as being innocent, not tainted in anyway. Other people who have moved out of the area report back to me that they have (sadly) not been able to find another church...

Our BHCC Open House may have come to an end but we are still praising God abundantly and celebrating all He has done in the last 4 weeks! We had almost 60 first-time visitors and that has to be an all time record for our previous Open Houses! Many of those visitors continue to come back and worship with us and we pray that God would call many of them to become long-time members of our church family! We feel very honored and blessed to have met so many wonderful people! We are also celebrating how well our going to two Sunday services has been! (We now have four weeks under our belts!) I heard many of our hard working volunteers say it's been much easier than they thought it would be and everyone seems to be truly enjoying the whole two services experience! We've had some folks that we haven't seen in quite some time return to our church because it's now possible for them to come with our having an earlier service! PTL! We are thrilled to have them back! :-) We had around 20 people attend our BHCC 101-401...
